Maria Levato
Maria Levato is a BIPOC woman and disabled veteran. She has written two books, The Islands of Rune (2023) and Journey to Rallem (2025). An article she wrote was published in the Romance Writers Report (2025) and she has done a three month mentorship program under an award winning fantasy writer.
Outside of her writing, Maria serves the writing community in other ways. She’s the chair of the PRO Advisory Committee for the Romance Writers of America and an ambassador for the Washington, D.C. chapter of The Authors Guild.

First and foremost, thank you for your interest in my work.
I’m leaving this note here for the sake of clarity. So far, I haven’t had any serious issues with this, but with the growing hostility towards historically marginalized groups both in this country and within the bookish community, it didn’t feel right to not have it publicly stated. With that being said, I’m noting that if you are a member of any historically marginalized group, you are safe. You are safe with me, on my social media, and within my books—bigotry will find no home here. If you have ANY issue with these things while on my pages, and I don’t immediately catch it (which I normally would), I ask that you contact me so I can handle it. While I don’t normally accept or acknowledge unsolicted messages, I do see them and it is okay to message me for this specific purpose.
